Back in the “Ballad Boom” of the sixties when Luke Kelly was belting out the “Black Velvet Band”, when Johnny McEvoy had his first hit with “Muirsheen Durkin” and Danny Doyle was tops with “Whiskey On A Sunday”, another new name appeared on the programme of the Dublin ballad bars – Noel V. Ginnity.

He was different. He was original. He was Belding his gift as a comedian with a natural gift that many Irish people have: the gift of story telling.

During the seventies he worked with the Dubliners throughout the concert halls of the USA, Canada and Great Britain. From Toronto to Los Angeles, I’m sure he has endangered more people form death by convulsions of laughter that anyone I’ve know. Today it continues.

Noel V. Ginnity is not alone as Ireland’s joke master, he is also Ireland’s master story teller. Enjoy it.
